The author Ylli Drishti (born in Tirana 1953) graduated in 1976 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana, Albania, specializing in monumental painting. As part of a wider group of artists and designers he has worked in various important projects such as, designing the interior spaces of the National Museum "Gjergj Kastrioti Skënderbeu", Kruje, Albania, 1980 1982, and in 1986-1987 the Historical Museum of Lushnja, Albania From 1982 to 1995 he worked as a restorer of artworks in the Institute of Cultural Monuments, in Tirana. Drishti has lectured, written and pub lished many articles and reports on the subject of the restoration of Byzantine and post-Byzantine icons and frescoes. Further specialized studies in Greece and France on the subject have established him as a distinct voice in this field in Albania. He has published many books as co-author, the most important being "Kostandin Shpataraku - A Bi ography", Mantova, Italy, 1992; "20th century Albanian Artists - Bi ographies" Tirana, 1999; "Ibrahim Kodra" Tirana, 2004; "The Icons of Berat", Tirana, 2003; "Albanian Artists in the Italian Art Academies" Tirana, 2005. The album "100 YEARS OF TIRANA IN PAINTING" highlights and clearly reflects the emotions of hundreds of Albanian artists and many European artists Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean who vond Albania and opened they exhibitions in Twana during these 100 years. During the first half of the goth century, when Tirana began to be visited by fam Italian, German, Crech and Bulgarian painters the central mout of their paintings was the Old Bazar of Tirana, the Skanderbeg Separe and Ethem By Mosque, sich nitis that also have inspired and attracted first Albanian artists such as Salik Kaceli, Vang Mi Theahim Kostra, Qenan Mesarea, Abdurrahim Bura and other subsequent generations.

 Whoever visits Kruja for the first time and starts climbing up the intricate path set in between dense pine trees, is first able to communicate and admire from afar, the image of a white city, which looks as if it is tightly screwed in a rocky relief, lacking vegetation, which creates the emotions of a beautiful, horizontal, slithering necklace.

Gradually as you get closer to the city, the silhouette of the smaller castle on the right becomes more apparent and allows one to discern the new Museum that is linked to its surrounding walls. Further, along the eastern side of the old castle, in the midst of the steep cliffs of the mountain, one can clearly see the tall stone tower - the symbol of this castle.

In the center of the small city stands the equestrian monument of the national hero "Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg".created by the master of Albanian sculpture the artist Janaq Paço, "Sculptor of Nation". The monument was inaugurated on November 28th 1959. It would gradually become the national symbol of the hero's image and would open the way for creating a series of other equestrianmonuments dedicated to this extraordinary and unique figure that has had and continually does have an immense impact on the Albanians, wherever they live.

Paço si një mjeshtër dhe intelektual i veçantë krahas portreteve të ndryshëm realizoi edhe disa monumente të rëndësishëm si ai kushtuar aktorit Aleksandër Moisiu (në Kavajë); Gladiatorët (në Durrës); Monumentin e Skënderbeut (në Tiranë me bashkëautor) si dhe bustet e Hasan Tahsinit në Sarandë, Avni Rustemit dhe Qemal Stafës në Tiranë etj.

Janaq Paço duke patur një admirim për bukurinë femërore krijoi me mjeshtri dhe delikatesë të veçantë koleksionin e parë të nudove femërore në vitet më të vështira të diktaturës komuniste, një pjesë e të cilave janë pasqyruar edhe në këtë album, sigurisht pjesë të ruajtura nga familja pas thyerjes së tyre nga autori (pas presionit nga organet e diktaturës komuniste).

The Onufri museum collection is constituted with 173 objects chosen from a fund of 1500 objects, belonging to the fund of Albanian Churches and Monasteries as well as to Berat, where you can find 106 Icons and 67 Liturgical objects, created from Albanian Iconographical painters during XIV-XX-th Centuries: Onufri, Onufri's son, Nikola, Cypriot Onufri, David Selenica, Kostandin Shpataraku and Cetirs (Gjergj, Johan, Nikola, Naum and Gjergj junior) and from a lot of anonymous painters. Icon holder of Berat Cathedral is inscribed by master Naum from Lavdar, Opar and master Stefan Braka from Misras, Opar in the middle of XIX-th Century.
